26 Hours to Go

California July '09 bar takers are counting the hours now. Tension is thick. Glad I'm not one who has to go through the drama at 6 p.m. tomorrow night, but I guess I'll get some of the fallout from it as friends disintegrate or go on their merry way, never to worry about the CBX again.

For the last month I've been in two study groups, one for essays and PTs and one for MBEs. I'm learning a lot about what I need to do, and so far, I haven't felt the need to pony up thousands of dollars to continue on the journey. As if I had thousands of dollars to pony up.

Last month, when I was considering tutors, I had a line of credit and a credit card with a high limit. No more. Bank of America has lowered its limits and upped its finance rates. Plan B.

The essay/PT group is being mentored by Judge Linda Wilde. She has a book on essay and PT writing that I wish I had before. In some ways, it seems simplistic. But that is what I needed. If she continues with this group, I'm all in. If not, Plan C.

MBE's, well, I am mostly of the mind that I won't take the MBE portion so that I can focus full-time on memorization and writing. But I'll keep my hand in taking some of the MBE practice exams to see where my weaknesses are and to perhaps prepare for the exam in case I change my mind.

One purchase I'm very happy about: Steven Harris' book "Winnin' Time". Google it, and if you order from him, please cc me and mention my name to him. I could use any credit I can get, and I might try one of his courses.
